Acts pertaining to the militia, 1798-1816.

The Acts of the Militia of the Mississippi Territory consist of three major laws: 1) the first law of the Mississippi Territory which provided the regulations of the Governor for the permanent establishment of the Militia of the Mississippi Territory; 2) an Act to organize the Militia; and 3) the Act of 1814 Jan. 22 and 1816 Dec. 13, which also described the organization of the Militia. The first law was signed by Governor Winthrop Sargent on 1799 Feb. 28.
