The records document Consumers' Research's testing, projects, and research into the reliability of televisions including color televisions, television receivers, and television antennas. The records contain extensive catalogs and operating manuals for televisions between 1947 and 1980, correspondence, magazine and newspaper articles, test forms and results, project notes, and purchase forms. Subjects include facsimile television, television broadcasting, stereoscopic television, television standards and specifications, television safety, ultrahigh frequency television, boosters, antennae, television repair, television receivers, receiver accessories, video cassette recorders, and consumer electronics. Television receivers were tested each year between 1947 and 1979. (Projects consisted of the test on each year's upcoming model of television.).
