Typewritten transcript of an interview conducted by John F. Bluth of the Brigham Young University Archives on 25 April 1980 in Orem, Utah. Downard tells about her life. She was born near Price, Utah and was raised on a farm there. She married Ray Downard and talks about raising her son Jerry. "I wanted him so perfect that I felt like I was mean to him. I whipped Jerry a lot because I wanted him to be the perfect little gentleman when I took him to anybody's house. He'd just sit there and fold his arms, you know." She talks extensively about her family life and raising children.
