Activities of society described include monthly luncheons with speakers, lectures, exhibitions, and publication of books and a journal. Includes newspaper clippings about the society, and also about prominent people (many obituaries), California history, natural history, and other societies (E Clampus Vitus, the California Academy of Sciences). Includes two photos (Aubrey Drury, v. 4, p.45, figurehead of brig wrecked in 1834) and one photographic postcard (Leland Stanford Home in Sacramento).
