Copies of reports and endorsements made by The Adjutant General to the Secretary of War relating to such matters as appointments, commissions, promotions, resignations, desertions, and casualties of personnel of the Army; strength and designations of military organizations stationed at various military posts; and clerks of The Adjutant General's Office. After 1859 the volumes contain endorsements and very few reports.
