George Fairbanks Bixby (1830-?) the son of Ichabod and Susanna (Lewis) Bixby, Jr. was born in Chelsea, Orange County, Vermont. He was employed in Vermont as a teacher, farmer, and dentist until his removal to Plattsburgh, Clinton County, New York. In 1860 Bixby married Deborah Stephenson and they had two children, George Stephenson Bixby and Helen Stephenson Bixby.
