Copies of indexes to naturalization records, 1784-1906.

Photocopies (5" x 8" negatives) of court indexes to naturalization records filed in Federal, State, and local courts located in New York City, which were made by the Work Projects Adminstration. One of the indexes (that of former court of common pleas for the city and county of New York) contains entries pertaining to naturalizations that took place as early as 1784, although the copies of the naturalization documents of that court do not contain information concerning naturalization occurring before 1792. For related naturalization records, see DCNV89-A711.
