Mount Holyoke College war collection, 1908-1984.

Documents the impact of various wars, especially the two World Wars, on the administration, faculty, and students of Mount Holyoke College. Student and faculty activities are reflected in minutes, reports, correspondence, certificates, receipts, relating to war relief work, in particular the British War Relief Society; correspondence, programs, registers, articles, and photographs concerning several war-related training programs held at the college in 1918 and 1942-1943, including the E.S.M.D.T. Course in Industrial Supervision, Industrial War Training Program, International Student Service Work Camp, and Training Course for Health Officers; press releases, clippings, and photographs depicting farm and victory garden work of students. Records of war work of alumnae include files of the Intercollegiate Committee on Women's War Work Abroad and the Red Cross; correspondence, reports, articles, and photographs concerning WAVES, WACS, and Women Marines; and a series of 1946 "World War II Job Reports" which describe activities during and after the war. A less extensive portion of this collection consists of notices, correspondence, newsletters, reports, clippings, memoranda, and photographs relating to Mount Holyoke and the Vietnamese Conflict, reflecting student and faculty opposition to that war and the student strike of 1970.
