The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam. The Vancouver, Westminster and Yukon Railway Company was incorporated in 1901 to construct railway lines from Vancouver into the Yukon Territory. Lines were completed between Vancouver and New Westminster, British Columbia. In 1908 its property was sold to the Vancouver, Victoria and Eastern Railway and Navigation Company.
