The E.S. King Village Council (formerly the McKimmon Village Council) is the governing body for the E.S. King Village neighbood, and was established in or before 1959, when the Mckimmon Village (later, the E. S. King Village) was opened. The E. S. King Village Council remains active as of 2008.

King, E. S. (Edward Scull), 1887-1962

Edward Scull King (1887-1962) was an alumnus of Guilford College. After graduating, he worked in the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) at the University of South Carolina (1914-1917) and Vanderbilt University. He came to North Carolina State College in 1919 as Secretary of the YMCA and served until his retirement in 1955.
