The records of the North Carolina State University chapter of Abraxas, Inc. inclue meeting minutes, personnel and financial information, other administrative records, and topical files of pamphlets on issues including drug and alchohol use, pregnancy, suicide and depression, study habits, and general sexual matters. Volunteer peer counselors provided information and advice on these and other topics to students on campus. The North Carolina State University chapter of Abraxas, Inc. was founded in 1972 to provide peer counseling, free of charge, to students on campus. Counseling was done both in person and over the phone, and Abraxas also worked to distribute factual literature on these same topics around campus. The chapter remained active until at least 1975.
