The West Bank Union at the University of Minnesota was established in 1967 to offer services to students. Clarence Edward Lund was a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Minnesota. He was born in 1906 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and earned his B.S. in 1933 and M.S. in 1935 from the University of Minnesota. From 1944-1948, he was director of research for Seeger Corporation. He joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota in 1949 and retired in 1974 as professor emeritus.
