George Augustus Frederick was born August 12, 1762, the eldest son of George III of England and Queen Charlotte Sophia of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Queen Victoria was the only child of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn and Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld.
