Sir Frederick Hugh Sykes (b. July 23, 1877, Croydon, England-d. Sept. 30, 1954), Air Vice-Marshal, British Royal Air Force, began his military career by enlisting as a trooper in the Imperial Yeomanry Scouts regiment of the British Army at the start of the Boer War.
