Part 1, Sen. Barkley, who resigned as Sen. majority leader over the President's veto of a tax bill, is reelected by the Sen. Includes scenes of Barkley in his office with piles of mail, the Senate in session, and Roosevelt speaking on the tax bill. Part 2 shows spring hat styles. Part 3, U.S. landing craft go ashore on Kwajalein island in the Marshall Islands and troops rout Japanese snipers with machine guns, mortars, and flamethrowers. Japanese and Korean slave laborers surrender and are searched when they answer a loudspeaker broadcast to surrender. Tanks and infantry advance. The wounded are evacuated. Adm. Nimitz inspects the area. Troops rest and eat.
