Ernest C. Hardin, Jr., (1916-1986) was born in Wheatcroft, Kentucky. He was Director of Operations, 6th Air Division at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida from 1953 to 1954, and from 1958 to 1960, was Deputy Commander of the Sixteenth Air Force at Torrejon Air Base in Spain.
