James Dyce Alger (b. Mar. 25, 191-d. May 27. 1986), was a three-star general in the U.S. Army. Also known as "Gentleman Jim", he played a significant role in the Battle for Kasserine Pass (Tunisia) in 1943 as a Lieutenant Colonel in the 2nd Battalion, 1st Armored Regiment. Robert William Porter, Jr. (b. Apr. 29, 1908, Alma, Neb.-d. Apr. 22, 2000, Charlottesville, Va.), U.S. Army general, graduated from West Point in 1930.
