James Dyce Alger (b. Mar. 25, 191-d. May 27. 1986), was a three-star general in the U.S. Army. Also known as "Gentleman Jim", he played a significant role in the Battle for Kasserine Pass (Tunisia) in 1943 as a Lieutenant Colonel in the 2nd Battalion, 1st Armored Regiment.
