Part 1, the raid on Dieppe: the Fr. coast is subjected to a naval and aerial bombardment, the invasion fleet circles, a smoke screen is laid, a Brit. plane falls into the sea, the pilot is rescued, LCT's go ashore, and Commandos, including many, wounded, debark in England. Part 2, Waves and Wacs take the oath of allegiance. Shows Col. Hobby and a Russ. girl sniper. Part 3 shows huge crowds and screen notables including Greer Garson, at a large war bond rally. Part 4, Winston Churchill reviews Brit. troops in Egypt and confers with Gen. Smuts.

Oveta Culp Hobby (January 19, 1905 – August 16, 1995) was the first secretary of the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, first director of the Women's Army Corps, and a chairperson of the board of the Houston Post.
