Lewis William Walt (b. Feb. 16, 1913, Wabaunsee County, Kan.-d. March 26, 1989, Gulfport, Miss.), U.S. Marine Corps officer, enlisted in the Colorado National Guard at the age of 17, and after graduating from university in 1936, he accepted an appointment in the Marines. John A. Heintges was born in 1912 in Germany. He was a United States (U.S.) Army officer and a battalion and regimental commander in World War II (WWII). He served in Laos from 1959-1961 and the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam from 1965-1967.
