Harry W. Bashore (1880-1973), an engineer, worked for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation from 1906-1945. He worked on water reclamation projects in Oregon, Washington, California and Wyoming from 1927-1933. He became assistant commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation in 1933 and was in charge of all irrigation projects in the West.
