Field notes, subject files, cross index cards, surveys, photographs, movie films, audiotapes, maps, census data, and other documentary and research material of the Cornell Rankhandi Project. The project used the control Muslim village of Jhabiran in its study, and embraced the disciplines of anthropology, religion, sociology, political science, economics, linguistics, child psychology, history, and social psychology. Team members include Michael Mahar, Pauline Kolenda, Allan Atwell, John Gompers, John T. Hitchcock (Project Director), Robert T. Smith, Morris E. Opler, and Pat Hitchcock.

Professor of anthropology. Born in Buffalo, N.Y. on May 16, 1907, Opler received a B.A. in sociology from the University of Buffalo in 1929, an M.A. in anthropology there in 1930, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1933. He served as an assistant anthropologist with the Bureau of Indian Affairs from 1936-1937.
