Cleveland Ethnic Studies Collection 1966-1982

The collection consists of newspaper clippings, photographs, correspondence, maps, office records and proceedings of various ethnic organizations, studies, census tracts, workshop information, teaching materials, manuscripts as collected by Cleveland State University professor emeritus Karl B. Bonutti as it relates to his work with Ethnic Heritage Studies at the university. Bonutti was the editor for the Cleveland Ethnic Heritage Studies monograph series and many of the manuscripts for these books, some of which were unpublished, are available in this collection. The monographs provide details on the ethnic communities present in Cleveland, Ohio ca. 1965-1985.This collection represents a comprehensive and systematic survey of the ethnic communities and neighborhoods of Cleveland, Ohio. The communities represented in this collection include African-American, Arab, Byelorussian, Chinese, Filipino, German, Hungarian, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lithuanian, Polish, Puerto Rican, Romanian, Serbian, and Slovak peoples.
