This collection is made up of over 170 letters that Staff Sergeant Lawson L. Lindberg wrote to his fiancé then wife, Elsa Kunze (referred to as "Dorothy" or "Dottie"), while serving in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Lindberg described camp life and his training exercises in the United States, and also wrote about his service in the Pacific Theater during the final year of the war.
