John Milton Harris was born in Wellsville, New York, in 1925, the son of Keith Harris. In 1943, he joined the United States Navy, participating in the V-12 program at the University of Rochester. He graduated with a degree in chemical engineering in 1945 and remained in the navy until his discharge in 1946. After his military service, Harris worked for the DuPont Company in Wilmington, Delaware. He and his wife Roxanne had four children: Sue Elizabeth, Stephen, Paul, and Mark. John ...
