Jonathan Gorham Fitch (d. 1822) and his wife Sarah of Hornchurch, England, had at least three children: Frederick Charles (1809-1827), Eliza Jane, and Emily. The family arrived in Baltimore, Maryland, around 1822, and Sarah and her daughters moved to Nantucket, Massachusetts, following Jonathan's death in 1822.
