Sydney Chapman Papers 1860-1972

These papers document the career of Sydney Chapman, who studied geophysics and physics of the upper atmosphere. Chapman served on the faculties of the University of Manchester, Imperial College, Oxford University, and the University of Alaska. He was also a member of research staff of the High Altitude Observatory in Boulder, Colorado. The papers consist of correspondence, lecture notes, photographs, reprints, etc.
