Banker, of Spokane, Wash. Letters from Favre to his mother and sisters, written as a student at Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif. (1902-1905), reporter for the San Francisco Call and San Francisco Examiner (1906-1907), and investment banker with brokerage firm Murphey, Favre & Co., Spokane, Wash. (1907-1918); together with mineral preemption claims from Kansas and Colorado territories; and Favre family papers, including genealogies and photos and material relating to his father, Eugene Favre, Sr. (1827-1894). Subjects include the San Francisco earthquake and fire (1906).

Eugene Favre, a Stanford University graduate, came to Spokane in 1907. He had worked briefly as a reporter for the San Francisco Call and Examiner before coming to the Northwest. Favre pursued a long and successful career in investment banking in Spokane as a partner in Murphy, Favre & Company.
