Typescript extracts from the autobiography "Into the Past : Down 45 Years of Railroad Track," by Hugh Moran, 7 pp, circa 1910-1912, typed and illustrated by his daughter, Louise Reed Bryant, regarding his days as a railroad worker, and later engineer, while constructing railroads in Pennsylvania, Iowa, New Mexico and while employed by Oregon Railroad and Navigation Company. Hugh Mohan was a coal miner from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who made his way west with the Railroad crews and arrived in Portland, Oregon in 1901.
