Baron Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett Dunsany was an author, aristocrat, adventurer, chessmaster, and soldier; he is probably best known for writing fantasy fiction, ghost stories, and drama under the name Lord Dunsany. Raised on the family estate in County Meath, Ireland, he was influenced by Greek mythology and the Bible.
