George Frederick Gundelfinger (1884 – 1974) graduated from the Sheffield Scientific School in 1906. He received a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Yale in 1909, and served as a professor of Mathematics from 1909 – 1913. After leaving Yale, Gundelfinger taught at several other institutions before retiring to Pennsylvania.
