Henry (Heinrich Otto) Berolzheimer was born in 1848 in Nuremberg to Heinrich and Theresa (née Brandeis) Berolzheimer. In 1867 he obtained a passport and an exit permit to North America. 1869-1870 Heinrich Otto Berolzheimer spent some time in Paris. He was granted U.S. citizenship on March 3rd, 1876, as Henry Berolzheimer. In 1885 he married Getti (or Jetti) Salomon, who was born in Keokuk, Iowa.
