The World Peace Council (WPC) is an international organization, representing over 100 countries, with headquarters in Athens, Greece since 2000 (formerly in Finland). The WPC was founded in 1948; Frederic Joliot-Curie was its first president. During the Cold War, the WPC tended to criticize western, especially American, armaments but refrained from equal criticism of the Soviet Union side.
