Betsy Wade Photographs 1978-1982

Betsy Wade is a labor union activist who has served as an officer in The Newspaper Guild, beginning as a Vice President of its International, and then as President of the Guild’s New York City-based Local 3. She was also a founder of the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW), in 1974. Wade, an editor and writer, worked for the from 1956 to until her retirement in 2001. The collection consists of 28 mainly black and white photographs and two leaflets. These include portraits of Betsy Wade and fellow-members of dissident factions of The Newspaper Guild, Local 3, picket lines and demonstrations. New York Times
