Frances Nathan papers 1970-1980

Frances Nathan is a New York City resident who is active in public affairs, especially women's issues. In the 1970s she served as executive director of New York State National Abortion Rights Action League (NYS-NARAL), an affiliate of the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL). During the International Women's Year (IWY) in 1975 she was a delegate to the New York State Women's Meeting and the National Women's Conference. Collection consists primarily of printed materials and is divided about equally among NYS-NARAL, IWY, and abortion reference files. For NYS-NARAL there are newsletters, 1974-1980, records relating to lobbying activities, speeches and testimony, printed ephemera, and a few letters. IWY materials include programs, clippings, draft resolutions, and ephemera from the state and national meetings. Abortion reference files contain reports, clippings, leaflets, newsletters,and printed ephemera from NARAL and other organizations.
