Robert Thomas Jenkins, historian and author was born in Liverpool in 1881. Following the death of his parents when he was a child, he was raised by his grandparents at Bala, Merionethshire. He attended the University College of Aberystwyth and Trinity College, Cambridge before embarking on a career as a teacher at Llandysul, Brecon.
