The Midland Liberal Federation was formed at an inaugural meeting held in Birmingham on 23 May 1894. The meeting was attended by delegates from Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
