The Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center (JSC) is the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Manned Spacecraft Center, where human spaceflight training, research, and flight control are conducted. It launched for the first time on mission STS-1 on April 12, 1981, the first flight of the Space Shuttle program.
