Caine, George B. (George Ballif), 1889-1969

George Ballif Caine (1889-1969) was born in Logan, Utah. He attended the Utah Agricultural College (now USU) for undergraduate work and received his MA in Animal Husbandry from the University of Missouri in 1914. In 1915 Caine returned to USU and became a faculty member. Caine also organized and oversaw the College's first dairy herd. John Thomas Caine, Jr. son of John Thomas and Margaret Nightingale Caine, was born in Salt Lake City on March 9, 1854. He married Kathinka (Kinnie) Ballif in October 1878. They were parents of nine children, seven of whom reached maturity: John T. III, Lawrence B., George B., Alfred, Arthur, Blanche, and Kinnie.
