William Blake Eager papers, 1848-1890 (bulk 1863-1865, 1874-1890).

Letters to family members concern service in military hospitals in Carrollton and Franklin, Louisiana; the siege of Port Hudson and the Red River campaign; camp life; and descriptions of the Louisiana landscape. Included are official papers pertaining to Eager's military service and Eager's obituary. Additional letters describe an examination given to medical students at Columbia College (New York, 1848), one share in the New York Historical Society Publication Fund (1858), and a tour through Europe (1877).
