Letters of Merle Johnson h[manuscript], [1929].

In a 1929 letter to Will James Johnson enquires about a book by Walter N. Burns that James has illustrated, asks if he is a fan of [Frederic] Remington or [Charles M. ] Russell, and notes that he keeps "The drifting cowboy" for pictures and "Smoky" for text. At the top of the letter is a small sketch of a horse bucking off his rider. In a second undated note to an unidentified recipient Johnson may possibly ordering books from a dealer's catalog. With these are three pages of notes about Mark Twain books and letters.
