[Letters concerning revival in Grace Street Church] 1857 Nov. 9-Nov 22 / J.B. Jeter. 1857.

Nov. 9. Answered a letter in which Broadus, writing immediately prior to his wife's death, inquired about the dates for a series of meetings he had promised to preach for Jeter. Jeter, sympathetic to Broadus's grief, explained his delay in answering: "First, I knew that your mind, absorbed in its recent affliction, would revolt at the formation of any immediate plans for future labor. Nov. 16. Jeter was watching his congregation, trying to decide on the best time for the services to be held. Nov. 22. "Our church has concluded to hold a series of meetings. We commence at once." Nov. 25. Expressed his disappointment that Broadus had not yet arrived, but was "pleased at the cause of the failure [Broadus's own church was experienceing revival].
