Alfred Nixon papers, 1876-1959 [manuscript].

Correspondence, legal papers, and notes of Alfred Nixon, local historian and attorney of Lincoln County, N.C., and of his descendants, Kemp Battle Nixon and Joseph R. Nixon, superintendent of schools in Lincoln County in the 1920s; and a record book, 1885-1889, kept by J. A. Munday, concerning his work as justice of the peace of Lincoln County. Included are student notebooks kept by Alfred Nixon at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, 1878, of lectures by President Battle, and notebooks kept by A. T. Davidson, Jr., 1878, and Kemp Battle Nixon, 1900- 1903, There is also a letter, 1909, from R. D. W. Connor to Alfred Nixon.
