Lionel Drew collection on Henry Rootes Jackson, 1849-1915.

This collection consists of information mostly pertaining to Henry Rootes Jackson's death and the settlement of his estate. There are also letters to Jackson from his first wife, Cornelia Davenport Jackson, his son, Henry Rootes Jackson, Jr., his daughter, Cornelia, and her husband, Pope Barrow. Also included are three publications by Henry Rootes Jackson. They are American Loyalty, given at the University of Georgia commencement in 1893, Letter form Henry R. Jackson to Ex-Senator Allen G. Thurman, discussing the South and the confederacy, and sheet music entitled, "The Red Old Hills of Georgia," with words written by Jackson. A poem written on October 11, 1869, concerns the Irish Jasper Green's journey to Mexico. The collection also contains eleven photographs, depicting Henry Rootes Jackson, Patience Crenshaw Barrow Drew, Middleton Pope Barrow, , and Davenport Jackson. The folder of photographs is noted as "VM" (visual materials) in the collection inventory.
