Shaw discusses the Museum in the late 1940s when she first came to work for Betty Chamberlain, and she recalls her relationship to Rene d'Harnoncourt, Director of the Museum from 1949-68, and to Alfred H. Barr, Jr., founding Director of the Museum and Director of Museum Collections from 1947-67. Shaw describes the Museum's relations with the press during her years as Director of Public Information. Other topics covered include the 30th Anniversary Drive, the relationship between William S. Rubin and William S. Lieberman, the formation of the Professional and Administrative Staff Association (PASTA/MoMA), employee strikes, and the changes in leadership of the Museum during the late 60s and early 70s.
