This series consists of correspondence, drafts of correspondence and internal messages related to information being requested by the public, Federal Government agencies or members of Congress from the General Services Administration.
Included are records relating to inquiries directly from the public, requests from businesses, Congressional requests for information on behalf of constituents writing to their Representatives or Senators and inquiries from other Federal Government agencies pertaining to either their own informational needs from the General Services Administration or on behalf of a public, business or Congressional information request.
The records in most files contain documents related to the initial correspondence, drafts of correspondence replies and internal messages within the General Services Administration or to it from Congressional members or other Federal Government agency personnel. Subject topics covered by most files in the series relate to business inquiries into either wanting to sell or buy from the General Services Administration and personal inquiries regarding a variety of subjects ranging from the status of sales, bids, leases, construction or auction of Federal property, facilities, equipment and supplies to assistance with military personnel records, complaints, disputed claims, bids, services and payments as well as referrals for general information from both the General Services Administration or of other Federal Government agencies.
