Born 1957. Eileen Ryan is a Chicago-based multi-media and photographic artist. She was a member of the Artemisia Gallery from 1990 to 1993, and had several installations at the gallery during that time. Ryan earned her MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1996. In 1997, she was also affiliated with the ARC Gallery, and was considered by them to be a 2nd generation electronic media artist, who adopted digital technologies for artistic purposes. Ryan was involved with Chicagos Near Northwest Arts Council, and helped coordinate FACE THE STREET, a public art event held in Wicker Park. Ryan has received grants from the City of Chicago Department of Public Affairs, the Illinois Arts Council Access Program, Kodak, Partners if the Americas and the City Arts Program of the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs.
