Barnes, Stanley M., 1912-1996.
Stanley M. Barnes, naval officer, graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1935. During World War II, he was CO of Patrol Torpedo Boat Squadron 15 in the Mediterranean Sea. Later, he commanded all PT boats in the US Eight Fleet in the Mediterranean, totaling 43 boats. For this he was awarded the Navy Cross, the Legion of Merit and the British Distinguished Service Cross. He retired from the Navy in 1964.
