Philip Tabb of Gloucester County, Virginia resided at Toddsbury. He served in the Gloucester militia during the Revolution. A manuscript in the Mann Page, Jr. Papers states that he appraised horses for Mann Page, Jr.

James Maury Fountaine (1738-1795) was a minister of Gloucester County. He served first at Petsworth Parish, 1762-1764, and then at Ware Parish until his death in 1795. He married Alice Burwell the daughter of Carter and Lucy Burwell. Following Alice's death in 1775, Fountaine married Betty Carter Churchill. In addition to serving as minister, Fountaine taught school near Ware Church from 1773-1776.
