Biography

Dr. Millberry was born November 3, 1872 in Menominee, Michigan. He graduated from the College of Dentistry, University of California, in 1901. In 1903, he left his practice to become Laboratory Assistant in chemistry and metallurgy in the College. In 1910 he became Professor of chemistry and metallurgy, and in 1914, Dean of the College. He held these positions until 1939 when he was made Professor of Dental Health education; he retired in 1940.

Dr. Millberry was a member of the American Public Health Association, serving as President of the Western Branch in 1928-29. He was a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the California Academy of Sciences; a member of the American Dental Association, several honorary dental fraternities, and a member of the Dental Advisory Committee, Procurement and Assignment Service, War Manpower Commission.

He was the first to establish a course in dental hygiene and the author of many papers on dental education.
