Schulman was a member of the first group of Trade Union Program fellows, 1942-1943. In a one semester course, the Program extends to trade unions the same type of training that Harvard offers to those entering the field of business administration. The Program was administered by the School of Business Administration until 1982, when it was transferred to the Graduate School of Education, then to the Kennedy School; since 1989, the program has been under the President's Office.
